Our little salesman:Part 2
Jacob has successfully sold the treadmill and made his first foray into the world of commerce. We had many, many calls and emails (including one scam) from interested buyers. Jacob talked to most of them on the phone and I responded to the emails. We had one person set up an appointment to take a look at the treadmill. By the way, we didn't tell any of them that Jacob was only 10 years old. The person who came to look at it was very surprised by his age but she dealt with him as the seller. He was very nervous but, of course, I was there with him and helped him. It was sold and he is now $100 richer. He is now thinking of selling his bike so he can get a mountain bike. Who knows where this new found interest will lead? Maybe it will be short lived but it will always be something good to look back on.

WOW! Way to go Jacob!! So is he "sold" on the tithing of the newly acquired funds? ;)

ReplyDeleteNice. Hopefully it won't become too much of a hobby that you come home one day to no furniture in the house. My little brother was into selling things too. He would ask my Mom to buy a big tub of candy and then turn around and sell it to the neighborhood kids for inflated prices. Jacob sounds like a thinker, he does.
