Texas, MN

First came this. Started at 2 a.m. Wednesday morning and didn't stop until Thursday around the same time. Then came this. Sam had the idea to measure how much snow had fallen. The snow is up to the five inch line and still falling.
And of course, when that much snow has fallen, the unquenchable urge affects everyone in the house, except the mom, and they all head outside.

When we moved to Texas, it didn't take us long to rid ourselves of all the winter gear we had accumulated over ten years. Snowsuits, snow pants, boots, etc all went bye-bye. So when a freak day like this comes along in a state that is not supposed to have freak days like this, what do you do when you don't have boots but want to play in the snow? If you're like the boys you play until your shoes are soaking wet and then you keep playing. If you're like Analee, you do this.

Wrap your shoes in plastic bags. It really does work. She stayed outside for a couple of hours, played with the boys and took some really pretty pictures.

  1. Looks like it is the men in the house that enjoy the winter season - yes, there are four seasons; winter being one of them.
