The Melbourne Museum is a fantastic place. We took the tram downtown and then walked four or five blocks. We walked through some gardens and paused to take this picture in front of the Royal Exhibition Center.
The museum is very big and even though we were there for 3 hours, we still didn't see everything. There were wonderful dinosaur skeletons, interactive viewing screens and a 3-D movie with dinosaurs and volcanos.
There were some beautiful crystal formations.
And dino poo.
In the creepy-crawly exhibit, Sam stood up inside the ant habitat. We also saw the butterfly room and the beetle and spider room. A lot of it made me shudder but it was beautifully displayed. Unfortunately, Kyle had the camera at that time and we were not in the same room.
The wildlife room was fun to be in, with all the animals mounted high on the walls. There were several computer screens around the room with pictures of the display. You could touch the picture of one of the animals and another screen would pop up with all kind of facts about the animal. We had a good time trying to touch the smallest pictures we could find.
These were some beautiful birds.
Giant prehistoric armadillo. Being from Texas, we appreciated this one.
Beautiful camera but I'm glad we don't have to lug those around.
