Bonham State Park

We recently visited Bonham State Park. In Minnesota, we took trips to the state parks as often as we could. We have so much fun walking through the trees and just enjoying being surrounded by nature. The weekend after we went to Bonham, Analee went on a campout with the Young Women in our ward to the same park. They learned how to build a fire without matches, went canoeing, made up skits and had a great time together. This is usually my view of our family when we go walking in the woods. I don't mind being in the back. I love to see our kids following their dad. Jacob had a lot of energy and was almost always in the front of the group.

Jacob tried to climb this partially downed tree but it wobbled too much for him to go far.

Here's a back shot of me. Kyle has tried to pay more attention to taking pictures so I can be in the picture also.
Kyle almost stepped on this guy. A blow snake. Not dangerous but a pretty cool find.
Here are some animals we know well. Canadian geese are all over Minnesota.

Bonham State Park is a beautiful place. Jacob wanted to rent a canoe and go out on the lake but when we asked about it the ranger said the canoes were closed down for the winter. We will definately go back to get out on the lake.

  1. I remember the hikes we took with our kids along the Minnihaha Creek to the Mississippi River. Keep hiking.
